The Second Amendment: The Right to Keep and Bear Arms
In the second half of the twentieth century, the Second Amendment became the object of intense debate. Concerned with a rise in gun-related violence, gun control advocates construed the amendment narrowly—viewing the amendment as a limitation on the federal government’s ability to disarm state militias. On the other side, gun rights advocates interpreted the right more broadly—interpreting the amendment as providing all citizens with a right to keep and bear arms. Join the Institute of Bill of Rights Law, WRL, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as we explore how the Court has interpreted the Second Amendment, and whether or not District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. City of Chicago settled the debate over the “right to keep and bear arms.”

Discrimination, Harassment, and Privacy in Schools
Harassment, discrimination, and bullying are serious problems in American schools. Studies have shown that 85% of girls and 76% of boy reports experiencing some kind of harassment before they graduate from high school. Join the Institute of Bill of Rights Law, WRL, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as we explore these complex problems and propose potential solutions to wealth, gender, and sexual discrimination in schools.
